The Project Execution team is at the heart of our organisation, meeting and exceeding customer expectations while helping to build a sustainable and profitable future. You will lead Excitation System projects within the PAEN (Process Automation Energy Industries) division based out of ABB’s office and manufacturing facility located in the Ville Saint Laurent Technoparc (Montreal). This is a telecommuting position where Project Managers work at the office a minimum of 2 days per week and work from home for the remainder of the week. Reporting to the manager of the project management team you will maintain and enhance customer satisfaction by providing excellent service at all stages of the project.Your responsibilities
- Analyze and summarize contracts and ensure that the project team fully understands technical requirements, documentation deliverables and terms and conditions for the proper execution of contracts.
- Comprehensive management and control of all aspects of assigned projects to achieve ABB’s and the Client’s scope of work, schedule, cost, safety and quality objectives through the application of formal project management process, techniques, and internal guidelines.
- Identifying, analyzing, and addressing project risks, with regular sharing of lessons learned.
- Coordinating contract negotiation and non-conformity/warranty claims with customers, in collaboration with engineering, supply chain and other functions.
- Conducting project review meetings to update management on project progress, roadblocks, and financial status.
- Identify, evaluate, approve, and manage all change orders/scope changes for projects.
- Lead meetings with cross functional teams and various stakeholders.
- Coordinate field service and/or contractor work for full scope (turnkey) projects. Previous experience working with site contractors an asset.
- Available and willing to travel up to 20% of the time. Travel requirements could include visiting suppliers for FAT and quality inspections, visiting customer offices for project meetings and visiting powerplants to supervise and coordinate warranty work. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate a strong track record of managing site work.

Your background
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering. Project management qualification (PMP) an asset.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in project management, working in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
- Experience in power generation and / or working with Canadian or US electric utility companies an asset.
- Bilingual (English and French) is essential. French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
- Experience in management of project scope, cost, schedules, site work and vendors/subcontractors.
- A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach with strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to make effective presentations to clients and technical groups.
- Proficiency in using MS Office (Project, Excel, Word, etc.).
