Around 35 million people live in the coastal regions of Bangladesh, where water salinity is a major problem contributing to high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney disease, and other environmental health hazards. The project will investigate whether strengthening primary health care for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and implementing low-cost solutions to mitigate drinking water salinity can contribute to reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease and chronic kidney diseases among selected coastal areas in Khulna and Satkhira districts.

This position holder will report to Research Officer and have responsibility of field surveying, screening of study subjects, motivating people with the objective of providing support to the project team for effective research within the guidelines of project specific fields research procedure; and organizational values and guidelines (such as Institutional Governance Framework- IGF and Gender Diversity Guidelines). 

S/he will be responsible for:

  • Water source mapping;
  • Household listing;
  • Survey data collection in the household using mobile TAB;
  • Keep track of data collection at the field level;
  • Regular reporting of data collection status to the supervisor;
  • Assist in documentation of study activities;
  • Support team in relevant project activities assigned by the supervisor.

Required qualification and experience:

  • H.S.C
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in health research.
  • Experience in TAB based electronic data collection;
  • Working experience in hard to reach areas especially coastal areas.
