Requisition ID: 197832Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.As the Director of Talent Acquisition, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing Talent Acquisition in Canada for specific business line portfolios ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed and delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.Reporting to the Vice President of Talent Acquisition, the ideal candidate will be an innovative and highly influential individual with proven experience developing global Talent Acquisition strategies and leading a high performing talent acquisition teams while equally providing vision and strategic direction to Global Talent Acquisition strategies.Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Lead and drive a customer focused culture throughout your team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Demonstrate thought leadership through ongoing assessment of external and emerging trends.
- Collaborate with key business and HR leaders in assigned business lines, to develop and implement forward thinking Talent Acquisition strategies that set up Scotiabank as an employer of choice
- Develop and implement key talent insights to drive accountability and forward-thinking conversations ensuring optimal people competencies are aligned to overall business priorities in order to provide greater transparency and visibility to stakeholders.
- Build and manage the implementation of priority talent segment strategies. Ensure diversity goals are included in program designs where appropriate
- Manage internal/external ROI and identify cost saving/revenue generating opportunities to expand Talent Acquisition partnerships.
- Build and develop business line initiatives to reinforce the Bank’s commitment to Inclusion for all designated groups (Indigenous, Black, Gender, Persons with Disabilities, BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+, Veterans) by ensuring proper candidate slate representation,
- Coach team members towards the effective and efficient utilization of sourcing, hiring & selection tools and resources to support business requirements and strategies.
- Lead and develop progressive and transformative programs to increase Talent Acquisition capability in key markets and businesses.
- Contribute to Talent Acquisition and Global HR vision through various strategic projects.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- Minimum 10 years of progressive/innovative leadership experience within talent/talent acquisition, coupled with a proven track record of leading global transformation initiatives.
- Knowledge of corporate governance guidelines, compliance and reporting requirements related to global TA, international experience an asset.
- Ability to strive in a Hybrid office environment with a minimum of 3 days per week of in-office time.
- Ability to develop and translate strategy into plans, programs and results
- Ability to build, leverage and influence strategic relationships at all levels across departments and geographies
- Able to attract, recognize and coach a high performing specialized team.
- Experience with a variety of recruitment systems/solutions including experience building businesses cases, technology roadmaps and implementing innovative solutions
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple global projects with competing deadlines
- Bilingual communication skills in French and/or Spanish is an asset
- Experience with a variety of HR systems including implementing an applicant tracking system and/or other technologies and working with recruitment partners/vendors.
- Proven ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others across business units, functional departments, geographies, and disciplines.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
