The RoleThis is an opportunity to join the BA (Hons) Fashion promotion and Communication team as part of the Fashion Department at Kingston, which is home to successful and well-respected undergraduate and post graduate fashion courses, nationally and internationally. The Department of Fashion is located within Kingston School of Art (KSA) and you’ll be joining an experienced team to deliver the programme through a range of academic and professionally rooted activities, ensuring industry ready graduates. Working closely with the Head of Department and the course leader you will have the opportunity to contribute to the direction of the department through your experience of fashion promotion and communication, with specific contribution to creative practical outputs such as Visual Communication, Photography, Styling and Art Direction.You will have experience of delivering teaching and learning in Higher Education within the Fashion promotion and communication area and/or extensive and appropriate industry experience. You will be expected to support activities which relate to tangible outputs in both physical and digital spaces which in turn, will be translated into teaching and learning practices on the course.As part of the community of educators, practitioners and researchers you will have a role in retaining our reputation and enhancing our teaching and learning experience. You will contribute to the research and pedagogic development of the discipline and commit to your own continuing professional development.The PersonWe are looking for an exceptionally talented and enthusiastic lecturer with an inspiring approach to teaching fashion promotion and communication to undergraduate Fashion creatives. We believe that our courses are ambitious and nurture students’ skills through both the theoretical and the practical to fully prepare them for professional careers in Fashion. We are looking for a person to join our growing academic team to help retain the quality and enhance the experience of students and staff within the department.Applicants will be required to demonstrate that they meet the Kingston University standards in learning and teaching, and research. By the end of the probation period, you must have achieved the relevant level of UKPSF recognition (if this has not already been obtained). For those new to teaching, this will be through our accredited Introduction to Learning and Teaching and for those experienced in teaching, through our Kingston Academic Practice Standards Framework.The FacultyKingston School of Art (KSA) has a strong heritage.
