Biodiversity Net Gain Specialist

Yorkshire Wildlife Trust

Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is one of the UK’s fastest growing nature conservation organisations
and seeks to appoint a Biodiversity Net Gain Specialist. We are looking for an exceptional
individual with the knowledge, drive and passion to help develop how the Trust recognises,
responds to, and engages with opportunities that will support nature’s recovery in Yorkshire.

Done well, Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) could make a significant positive contribution towards
nature’s recovery. Our goal is to set the bar high for BNG and how we, and others, engage in
it. Working collaboratively with teams across the Trust, you’ll be ensuring the Trust takes
advantage of opportunities for nature’s recovery (e.g. associated with BNG, development of
other environmental markets, nature recovery networks).

This is an interesting and diverse role, that will draw upon your technical expertise
(ecological survey, land management, environmental markets), strategic thinking (identifying
and linking opportunities and developing mechanisms for delivery) and working with stakeholders
and land managers to share knowledge and foster relationships.

How to apply:

Please submit an up-to-date CV and supporting statement. When writing your supporting
statement, please refer to the person specification within the job description, and ensure you
describe your relevant knowledge, skills and experience relevant to the role. Ideally, your CV
and supporting statement should be in an editable format, such as Word, so we can anonymise
your documents prior to the short-listing process. Please DO NOT include any personal details
(name, address etc) on your supporting statement.

Closing date: 23rd May at midnight (12am)

Interview date: 4th June 2023

Please note that applications received after the closing deadline may not be considered. The
Trust regrets that it is unable to give feedback on unsuccessful applications.

We are committed to creating a Movement that recognises and truly values individual differences
and identities. We value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive culture where
everyone is able to be themselves and to reach their full potential. We want our people to
flourish, just like nature.
