Our groundbreaking research in Additive Manufacturing has led to the creation of the ERDF funded (£4M) PrintCity Network programme, where we supported 150 SMEs within the Greater Manchester region, exploring innovative manufacturing solutions and new product design solutions.Additive Manufacturing is seeing significant growth. Governments and investors are making substantial investments in this area – the positive effects of which are evident at PrintCity.Join our Additive Manufacturing team in the Faculty of Science and Engineering, where we are recognised for our outstanding impact in Engineering. Our research in low-carbon fuels, electrochemistry and additive manufacturing underpinned a successful submission to the Engineering unit of assessment in REF 2021. 88% of our outputs were rated world leading and internationally excellent, and we ranked sixth overall in the UK for the impact of our research.You will have the freedom to tailor your development and build your academic reputation. Alongside expanding on your own vision and expertise, you will play a key role in mentoring others, promoting a cooperative, intellectually curious research culture and, as a member of the leadership community, supporting our long-term research strategy to enrich students’ lives while having a positive effect on our world.
