  • Lead product development initiatives, including identifying new products and enhancing existing ones.
  • Conduct laboratory and production-sized trials for new formulations, ensuring close communication with management regarding progress and issues.
  • Source and prepare technical documentation, adhering to current procedures and systems.
  • Stay updated with market trends and new product launches through research and collaboration with sales and marketing teams.
  • Build and maintain knowledge of new technologies and industry standards.
  • Lead clinical trials with customers and/or academic establishments.
  • Foster strong working relationships with sales and marketing colleagues to gather feedback on products.
  • Provide technical support and actively participate in product development and R&D meetings.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain health and safety standards.

The Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field such as Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, or related discipline. Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in product development or a related role within the food, pharmaceutical, or chemical industries.
  • Strong knowledge of formulation science, including experience with laboratory and production-scale trials.
  • Experience in sourcing and preparing technical documentation such as raw material specifications, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and finished product specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay updated with market trends and new product launches through research and collaboration with sales and marketing teams.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to lead clinical trials with customers and/or academic establishments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining health and safety standards.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel to other sites, including international travel, as required.
