The post is to join the current relatively new nursing program team within the School of Healthcare at the University of Leicester. Whilst primarily responsible for delivering teaching on its Nursing with Leadership Dual Field (Children’s Nursing and Mental Health) MSci, you will be expected to contribute to all nursing programs whilst operating as a role model and inspiring our students to become fully engaged members of the Nursing profession. Post holders will be encouraged and supported in their self-development with respect to education. The school and program are currently expanding their research portfolio with opportunities within this for all staff once they have completed their probationary period.The post therefore provides an excellent opportunity for a nurse with education experience to develop their education and training skills, whilst joining a dynamic and expanding nursing team at the University of Leicester.The successful applicant would be expected to:

  • Create and deliver undergraduate teaching materials
  • Contribute to and undertake assessment activities
  • Contribute to and support placement activities and network creation
  • Assume personal tutor role and activities
  • Contribute to and initiate activities aligned with out Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity agenda
  • Participate within all school, college and university governance and quality assurance processes to ensure that the course is constantly reviewed and revised to optimize student experience and our external reputation
  • Contribute to the University’s Citizen’s agendas including building of external relationships, supporting positive engagement with the local community to provide impact, supporting staff and student development and engaging in knowledge transfer activities for the benefit of society
  • Develop personal teaching and assessment skills
  • Contribute to wider school activities as appropriate for expertise and role
