This is an exciting opportunity to join the teaching and leadership team within the Division of Medical Education at the University of Manchester and support the introduction and delivery of our new MBChB Graduate Entry programme (GEM).The GEM programme is an innovative 4-year pathway leading to the MBChB qualification designed to compliment and integrate into our existing MBChB pathway structure. Set to welcome its inaugural cohort in September 2024, this forward-focused programme aims to produce exceptional doctors equipped to meet the evolving needs of healthcare.As a Clinical Lecturer, you will collaborate closely with the Academic Lead for MBChB Medicine (Graduate Entry) and our wider team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Contributing to curriculum development and enhancement – with particular focus on the 9-week teaching block in Year 2 of the programme covering the foundations of women’s health, child health and special senses, still in the initial phases of development
  • Facilitating teaching and learning activities
  • Developing and delivering assessments
  • Creating resources and refining processes for the successful implementation of the GEM programme

We are seeking candidates who are active senior clinicians within the NHS, with a primary medical qualification on the Specialist or GP register who demonstrate strong communication skills, teamwork ethos and a proven track record in medical education. Whether you’ve excelled in undergraduate or postgraduate teaching, your expertise will be invaluable in shaping the next generation of medical professionals.Please ensure that you have full endorsement from your primary line manager / Clinical Director when applying for this position.
