Reporting to: Project Principal

Remuneration: In line with market rates

Indicative LOE/Time Frame: Part-time over 6 months with the possibility of extension

Citizenship: Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident

Language Requirements: English, fluency written and spoken

Project Description:

The Promoting Reform Objectives through Technical Expertise and Capacity Transfer Phase 2 (PROTECT2) is an international technical assistance project funded by the Government of Canada which offers short-term expert (Ukrainian and international) deployment and capacity to strengthening defence sector of Ukraine. The project responds to the needs of Ukraine’s defence institutions and agencies and focuses on building strong analytical approaches in gender equality; women peace and security (WPS); social inclusion; defence governance and planning, capabilities development and resource management in defence.

 

About the work

Alinea International is recruiting a project intern who with passion and interest in gaining professional and practical experience in international development, conflict stabilisation and institutional governance.

 

The Role

The Project Intern will work under the direct supervision of the Project Principal and in coordination with the field team based in Kyiv. Through this experience, they will gain experience in project communications, monitoring and evaluation, events coordination, and institutional reform approaches.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the creation, editing, design and dissemination of communications products
  • Support content development and publishing of key project items in social media
  • Support redesign and formatting of PROTECT2 and affiliated organizations’ web presence
  • Assist with file organization and training for/monitoring of project platforms (Microsoft 365)
  • Support to GE training for in-project delivery
  • Support to online course design and development
  • Contribute to planning and organization of events
  • Contribute to the development of a roadmap for gender mainstreaming within the Ukrainian defence institutions
  • Review, provide comments, summarize and assist with translation for project products

Required Qualifications:

Mandatory:

  • Undergraduate degree in social sciences or a related field (i.e. Bachelor or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated interest in the fields of international peace and conflict stabilization; human rights, governance reform and/or project management
  • Written and spoken mastery of English
