Mission and objectives

Founded in 1943, in the midst of the devastation of World War II, the Italian National Association for Civilian Victims of War [ANVCG] was tasked with assisting civilian victims. Since then, it has promoted the interests and protected the rights of its members (to this day, 120.000 registered members). For this reason, ANVCG supports and promotes initiatives of peace, cooperation and friendship between States for the end of conflicts and makes the public opinion aware about the impact of war on civilian population. To reach this goal, ANVCG collaborates with Italian public authorities (Ministry of Education, Ministry of Defense, etc) and other national and international nonprofit organizations. As mentioned earlier, the ANVCG has recently created a research centre, which goal is to promote peace and reconciliation, advocating for the interests of the civilian victims of all cases of armed conflicts. Focusing on the memories of non-combatants, the centre navigates through the complexity of armed conflicts and assesses the economic and social impact on civilians, both for the individuals and for the community. To further this goal, the centre will be promoting the prosecut
