About usUCL Institute of Ophthalmology (IoO) invites applications for a Lecturer (Teaching) with experience in bioscience entrepreneurship to teach on, and support growth of, its novel cross-disciplinary MSc Bioscience Innovation & Enterprise programme.The post offers an exciting opportunity for someone to play a key role in developing new forms of education at the interface between science and business, in a highly successful and dynamic research and teaching Institute, as well as benefiting from the opportunities afforded by being part of the larger financial, educational, pedagogic and administrative community of the Faculty of Brain Sciences at UCL.About the roleThe Lecturer (Teaching) will have responsibility for the design, development and delivery of science entrepreneurship-related modules, including digital and technology components and will have responsibility in conjunction with the Programme Director and other Module Leads for the organisation, growth and strategic management of the programme, for continued quality and for the academic experience of the students on the programme. The postholder will also contribute to other teaching, seminars or short courses as required.The postholder will also have opportunities for their own pedagogic development through access to Faculty and Arena workshops and the UCL Higher Education Fellowship scheme.About youYou will have a solid knowledge of concepts, practice, trends and dynamics within bioscience entrepreneurship, innovation, technology transfer, digital health, knowledge exchange or aligned fields, based on a deep scientific literacy, educational background and professional practice.You will demonstrate excellence in teaching and/or outstanding teaching evaluations. Significant experience of teaching for, or about, biosciences entrepreneurship and experience of working with students is essential. In addition, you will have an innovative approach to the design and delivery of curricula that works across twin disciplines within business and science.You will be able to demonstrate experience of working collaboratively with a wide range of students and colleagues to identify and address issues and improve the quality of education in response to feedback.A PhD in a relevant subject or equivalent professional qualification or experience is desirable.What we offerWorking with some of the greatest intellects in the world, UCL also offers a generous pension scheme and holiday allowance, plus closure and bank holidays as well as enhanced parental pay and more.
