Since REF2014, we have significantly enhanced our reputation as a world-leading centre for psychological research. We currently have four main areas of research expertise:

We are looking to appoint a Lecturer to expand our offering in Health Psychology with a MSc In Health Psychology and further strengthen our position as a School dedicated to research and teaching excellence. Our Health, Wellbeing and Behaviour Change research group covers a breadth of approaches in health psychology including both mainstream and critical approaches to health psychology. Current research includes work on screening and vaccination behaviours, reproductive and parenting identities, sleep disorders and mental health, community approaches to health and mental health.The successful candidate will hold a DPsych or PhD in Health Psychology, hold HCPC registration and will have a clear plan for developing their programme of research in the field of health psychology, evidenced by successful independent research activity including publications in peer-reviewed journals and potential for securing external research funding. The School of Psychology works within a framework of open science and it is expected that the successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to these principles. Researchers within the School of Psychology are well supported with excellent facilities ( )In addition to pursuing excellence in research, the successful candidates will also be expected to contribute to teaching on our Undergraduate (accredited by the British Psychological Society) and Postgraduate courses.
