Attracting and retaining high-calibre people is fundamental to our continued success.Job description:The RoleWe seek to appoint an enthusiastic and outstanding Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Accounting who can contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate accounting and finance programmes, with specific expertise in one or more of the following areas: financial accounting, audit and assurance, management accounting, corporate governance or non-financial reporting (ESG/sustainability reporting). We encourage applications from those with experience of working in, or with, business, the third sector and/or policy.You will contribute to the research profile of the Accounting and Finance Subject Group in Newcastle University Business School by publishing in internationally recognised journals, demonstrating research impact, and securing external research funding. Additionally, you will develop and deliver programmes at Newcastle University Business School, ensuring an outstanding teaching experience for our students.The University has developed an which summarises the range of activities that academic colleagues may be expected to perform.You must be able to demonstrate research excellence – as evidenced by high quality publications – and deliver excellent teaching. You will have a strong research and scholarly trajectory in the discipline of Accounting with significant potential to generate research income and to pursue impact activities. In the case of lecturers, we would expect you to have the potential to develop an international reputation, whereas in the case of senior lecturers, we would expect this to have already been established. You will be committed to the success and development of Newcastle University Business School. If successful, you will join the dynamic and vibrant Accounting and Finance subject group within a business school that is committed to collegiality and academic citizenship.For the Senior Lecturer position, you must have a PhD in a relevant subject and you will be expected to provide academic leadership commensurate with a senior lectureship position in our School.
