DRC is looking for a Partnerships Officer who will be responsibile of mapping new and existing partners, assessing partner’s operational and programmatic capacity, support programme units in the implementation of partner capacity building plans, support in the monitoring of partners’ project implementation, and ensure timely submission of partner reports.
The individual will report directly to the Grants and Partnership Manager. Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
- Support field staff in the accurate and timely mapping of organisations in DRC’s areas of operation
- Contribute to the design, planning and monitoring of all partners’ projects as requested
- Develop and maintain a folder of soft and hard copies of all partnerships documents
- Responsible for the accurate assessment of potential partners
- Develop, review and build on internal DRC capacity building modules
- Support in the proper implementation of partners’ capacity building plans
- Liase with the support team on the partners’ procurement and financial requirements
- Revise the translation of partnership documents as needed
- Draft sub-grant agreements, MoUs, reporting templates and annexes.
- Review and provide feedback on all partners’ narrative reports
- Support in the planning and design of partner kick-off meetings
- Support the Partnerships Specialist in monitoring visits to partners field offices/areas of operation to identify challenges and elaborate solutions
- Ensuring that a positive and mutually respectful relationship is maintained as all times bewteen DRC and partners and addressing any issues as they arise.
- Deputizing for Grants and Partnerships Manager as required
- Undergraduate degree in international relief and development, social sciences, statistics/research methods, management or related relevant field.
- 1 – 2 years of experience in international organizations and humanitarian settings, specifically in capacity building, grants and reporting. Skills and experience in managing and coordinating with multiple partners concurrently is highly regarded;
- Fluency in Arabic and English
- Experience in operational capacity building of CBOs (desired)
- Strong level of computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel and Power point);
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility;
- Experience in using tools, manuals, training modules and plans for the purpose of capacity building and project management;
- Demonstrate the ability to pay attention to details
- Comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well;
- Flexibility in working overtime when needed
- Flexibility in frequent traveling to national field locations
- Developing capacity building plans (desired)
