Pinchin is seeking a Project Manager to join our Consulting Team in Victoria.Our Victoria office is currently looking for a motivated professional to manage projects involving the assessment and monitoring of various workplaces and buildings throughout BC. Your primary mission will be to manage projects involving the identification and management of hazardous materials, including asbestos, to ensure that the strict implementation of health and safety regulation and guidelines are followed before and during the disturbance of these materials. You will be running various projects on behalf of our clients in real estate, intuitional and industrial industries. Pinchin is a proven leader and has a strong record in managing and completing projects. A Day in the life of a Project Manager at Pinchin:

  • Effectively manage hazardous materials related projects front to back including client liaison, scope of work and proposal/budget development, staffing and resource management, project scope execution, technical support, report deliverables, financial performance and quality control.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and other potentially involved stakeholders, including regulatory body representatives to determine and execute project needs.
  • Supervise and coordinate abatement subcontractor performance and activities.
  • Lead and supervise junior staff in their job functions and career growth.
  • Train and mentor junior staff on the execution of established operating procedures and the writing technical reports.
  • Maintain and enhance quality control following established company protocols.
  • Collaborate on the effective delivery of projects with project managers from other divisions and offices.
  • Continually develop and maintain positive client and colleague relationships.

What you bring to the Pinchin team:

  • Diploma of Technology in Health & Safety, Construction, Architecture, Environmental Science OR Bachelor degree/diploma in Science/Applied Science in related field
  • Approximately 1-3 years’ project management experience related to hazardous materials and/or one of the assets listed below.
  • Knowledge of BC and federal health, safety and/or hazardous material regulations
  • A Valid Drivers License, Insurance and personal vehicle required (work related travel will be compensated)
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Availability to work outside normal business hours as required
  • The following experience is considered an asset:
  • Professional designation (EP, AScT, CSRP, ROH, ROHT, PMP)
  • Familiarity with building systems (structure, envelope, HVAC etc.)
  • Experience liaising with governmental bodies
  • Experience in the Occupational Health and Safety field and/or air monitoring procedures including experience with mould.
