Project Development Officer – Electric Vehicle Infrastructure!

The South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) brings together the local authorities of

Are you passionate about driving sustainable transport solutions and shaping the future of
electric vehicle infrastructure? SYMCA is seeking a dedicated Development Officer to lead the
implementation of our Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Strategy (EVIS).

As our Development Officer, you will play a pivotal role in realising our local transport
ambitions by delivering the outcomes outlined in our EVIS. You will spearhead the management of
the electric vehicle infrastructure programme, overseeing projects from conception to operation
and ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives.

Please note that SYMCA follows a structured salary grading system for all roles, and the
offered salary for each post will be at the starting point within the specified grade. We value
the skills and experience of potential candidates, and there will be opportunities for salary
enhancements as you grow within South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority. 

Key Responsibilities 

You will be required to Innovatively achieve EVIS outcomes and manage the implementation of EV infrastructure
effectively, as well as working closely and partner with local, regional, and national stakeholders to influence policy and secure
resources, Collaborate with SYMCA colleagues and consultants to develop EVIS implementation plans. Coordinate with neighbouring authorities and operators for cohesive planning, Cultivate strong internal and external relationships to drive integrated projects. Analyse data and foster partnerships for improved performance monitoring. Engage external market organizations for seamless charge point installation

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

The ideal candidate will be proficient in delivering and developing EV infrastructure strategy and programmes, have a proven track record in managing complex projects, preferably in transportation or
infrastructure. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective relationship-building and
stakeholder influence. Having a collaborative mindset for effective teamwork across diverse groups and a strong analytical skills for data-driven decision-making and performance enhancements.
