Senior Project Officer – Richmond, Southwest London

TCV

The Conservation Volunteers connects people and green spaces to deliver lasting outcomes for
both.

About the role:

Do you have a love for nature? Do you want to make a difference to the lives of volunteers and
local people? Do you want wildlife to thrive across southwest London? Then this could be the
role for you.

TCV is seeking a Senior Project Officer to join the Biodiversity Action Team in Richmond, based
at our office in east Twickenham.

The successful applicant will be responsible for planning and delivering practical nature
conservation volunteering sessions on a range of sites across the London Borough of
Richmond-upon-Thames, with ad hoc work taking place in neighbouring boroughs. The usual work
pattern will be 3 days of delivery and 2 days of planning/reporting.

The Senior Project Officer will be recruiting and managing volunteers, managing relationships
with stakeholders and local authorities, reporting on outcomes, looking for new project
opportunities, quoting for work and managing TCV resources and equipment, including a dedicated
project vehicle.

The ideal candidate will have a wide range of practical skills including habitat management and
small-scale construction, experience of leading volunteer teams, project management skills,
experience of dealing with customers and suppliers as well as having a solid grounding in urban
nature conservation.

In return, you will be fully supported by your line manager as you settle into the role and
beyond. TCV offers a formal induction programme, ongoing performance and development review
and, with opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across other London projects, excellent
prospects for informal learning and development.

Don’t have all of these? That doesn’t mean this isn’t the job for you! If you are enthusiastic,
motivated and well organised, willing to learn and passionate about our natural environment
we’d still love to hear from you.

We are happy to consider any reasonable adjustments that candidates may need during the
recruitment process, and you will be asked whether you require any during your application. If
you would like to discuss your requirements further please contact the People Team via [email protected] or by telephone on 01302 388883. We
also offer reasonable adjustments on the job.
