TENDER SPECIALIST

We are seeking a meticulous and highly organised Tender Specialist to join our Commercial Team.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will provide administrative
support for tendering processes, assisting in the preparation of technical proposals for marine
ecological surveys and specialist environmental consultancy projects.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Tender Specialist, you will play a crucial role in our tendering processes. You will be
responsible for supporting the preparation and submission of tenders, ensuring all
documentation is accurate and up to date. This includes assembling and formatting technical
proposals, as well as managing and collating supplementary documents such as equipment and
vessel specification sheets.

  • Support the preparation and submission of tenders, ensuring all documentation is accurate
    and up-to-date.
  • Assemble and format technical proposals, manage and collate supplementary documents such as
    equipment and vessel specification sheets.
  • Manage and update key personnel CVs, ensuring they reflect the latest qualifications and
    experiences.
  • Develop and input proposed technical approaches, such as method statements, into tender
    documents, ensuring clarity and coherence.
  • Maintain project experience logs, liaising with laboratory teams to update project-specific
    sample analysis figures.
  • Assist in the production of work briefs and provide detailed handovers to the operational
    departments of the business.
  • Undertake the initial input of Approved Supplier / Framework Questionnaires, ensuring all
    supplier information is accurately recorded and maintained

Over time, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to take on more responsibilities
with commercial aspects such as quoting and contractual reviews, providing a clear pathway for
career progression within the company.

Key Skills and Experience:

To succeed in this role, you will need strong organisational and administrative skills, with
excellent attention to detail. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint) is essential, as you will be handling a variety of documents and data. Your ability
to work effectively within a team and communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally, will
be crucial.

While not essential, experience in a marine, environmental, or ecological sector will be
advantageous. Familiarity with tendering processes and documentation, as well as knowledge of
project management principles, will also be beneficial. An understanding of laboratory
procedures and analysis related to marine ecology will further enhance your capability in this
role.

Qualifications:

A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, such as Environmental Science, Marine
Biology, or Business Administration, is required.
