We change the world for the better, and together we’re enabling people, organisations and businesses to thrive here, and around the world.We are looking for an experienced events manager who can demonstrate knowledge and understanding of events legislation and protocols, to and lead the delivery of a range of events to meet the needs of different audiences. The successful candidate will manage a small team to design and deliver a corporate events programme for the University of Hull, and advise others on events management best practice. The Corporate Events Manager will ensure events are delivered professionally, and in accordance with University policies and the new identity and brand.Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working with colleagues across the University oversee the effective delivery of a corporate events programme for the University of Hull, which reflects University policies and the new identity and brand. This includes prioritising and recommending which events can be supported centrally, and which need to be delivered locally, and overseeing the annual planning of events, in coordination with other University activity. Examples of events include (but are not limited to) staff facing events, graduations, inaugural lectures and external visits.
  • Lead the professional management of all University events, ensuring best practice event management processes, and university policies and procedures are applied at all times, including risk assessments data protection regulations, Prevent Duty and the application of the new Freedom of Speech legislation.
  • Lead the development of an Events Working Group to bring together colleagues from across the University involved in events management to better coordinate processes, roles and responsibilities and event timings. This includes but isn’t limited to colleagues in Hull University Students Union, Health and Safety, timetabling, Secretariat and Commercial Services.
