DepartmentThe Building Research and Innovation Capacity (BRIC) team sits within the Research, Innovation and Knowledge Exchange Directorate. The team is responsible for supporting research culture change for a large community of people who are actively engaged in conducting and supporting research at the University, as well as designing and implementing professional development interventions for researchers at all career stages.RoleThe Researcher Developer (ECRs) will play a key role within the newly reorganised BRIC team: leading the design and delivery of projects and development opportunities that resonate with, and support, a positive research culture for ECRs across the University. The role will involve working closely with colleagues in academic Departments and Professional Services Directorates to deliver training and professional development activities for early career researchers (including postdoctoral research staff). The role holder will also facilitate and support University-level discussions about the experience of researchers, with particular reference to the three principles of the Researcher Development Concordat: employment, professional and career development, and environment and culture.Skills, Experience & Qualification neededThe role would suit someone who is a confident communicator, can manage multiple projects and responsibilities, and is flexible and team-oriented. You will need excellent interpersonal skills and awareness of research culture challenges, ideally with previous experience in supporting researchers and/or delivering training within a large organisation.
