About the PositionI am working with a school in Leeds that are seeking a dedicated and proactive BSL Teaching Assistant to support learners with special educational needs. This is a full time role however, part time hours will be considered.The ideal BSL Teaching Assistant will have a good understanding of the UK curriculum, experience working with ASD, MLD, PMLD, and the skills to manage challenging behaviour. Competency in BSL or Makaton is essential and a TeamTeach qualification is desirable.About the SchoolThis school is committed to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and supported.   • Support the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons.
  • Work with students on a one-to-one and group basis.
  • Support children who have an Educational Health and Care Plan.
  • Differentiate learning to meet each learners’ needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and report on learner progress.
  • Help with classroom management and organisation.
  • Encourage and engage learners in their personal and academic learning.
