ED5003-24-300The School of Education, Sport and Health Sciences at the University of Brighton is looking to recruit an experienced manager for the role of Academic Administration Manager. The postholder will manage a team of around 12 members of staff to oversee the academic operational and administrative functions of this busy higher education department.Joining a friendly, professional team in a school which is at the forefront of teaching, research and consultancy in a range of education, healthcare and sports disciplines, based on our Falmer campus, you will provide administrative leadership and be responsible for the co-ordination and delivery of an effective administration service which underpins and supports the School in all of its quality assurance, student record management and customer service activities.Duties will include:

  • Leading delivery of the School Office’s administrative services for students and staff, across the student life cycle from enrolment to graduation,
  • Providing specialist advice to the School Leadership Team on the regulatory and compliance aspects and implications of administrative processes
  • Collaborating with colleagues in the Academic Registry and other academic Schools, to ensure compliance with University policy and practice.
  • Providing a user-centred enquiry service for students and academic staff, ensuring that customer service standards are met.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven leadership experience
  • Sound knowledge of student administration in higher education,
  • The ability to develop effective professional relationships with a broad range of colleagues,
  • Experience of collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams to identify and implement improvements to administrative processes
