Together, we can build a brighter future for everyone.About the RoleWe encourage joining our Chicago and Calgary offices, but remote work opportunities are available across North America.Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with company goals.
  • Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes.
  • Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data.
  • Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns.
  • Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms.
  • Combine models through ensemble modeling.
  • Present information using data visualization techniques.
  • Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges.
  • Work closely with the founders, engineering, and product counterparts to integrate data-driven insights into decision-making processes.
  • Hire, mentor, and manage a high-performing data science team.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10-15 years in data science roles in the lending or insurance industries, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
  • Demonstrated success in leveraging data science to drive significant business outcomes, particularly in consumer data, banking transaction history, or credit behavior analytics.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of statistics and data analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and business acumen.
  • MSc or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

Bonus Technical Skills:

  • Machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
  • Programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
  • Big data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
