Some key responsibilities include:Along with your main role as lead veterinarian, providing expertise to ensure optimal patient care; coaching teams in the realm of wellness plans, preventative and overall patient care.Review and enhance protocols when required according to regulatory requirementsFoster a culture of teamwork and exceptional client service.Partner with hospital leadership to assess financial performance and operations, addressing areas for improvement and celebrating achievements regularlyEngage in recruiting efforts for qualified Veterinarians through externships, referrals, career fairs, and DVM student summer program hiresWork with leadership to build and lead a high-performing team of veterinarians and technologists/technicians, employing effective leadership and coaching practices.Contribute to performance evaluations and lead coaching sessions for all team members, emphasizing client education on wellness plans and preventive care.What you bring to this role:Dedication to promoting team-based medicine practicesExceptional interpersonal skills in working with your colleagues, pet parents and communityExceptional coaching and mentoring capabilities for your medical and support teamPassion for developing personally and professionally; prior experience leading medical teams is an asset but not requiredWhat VCA Canada OffersJoin our team and you will make a huge difference in the lives of pets and their families!
