Job descriptionMaths Teacher – Stockport – September 2024We are specifically working with a ‘Good’ secondary school in Stockport looking for a Maths Teacher, who are working exclusively with ourselves, to join them teaching key stage 3 & 4 from September 2024, on an ongoing basis, likely to be for the full academic year on a full-time basis.You will be required to become fully immersed in the department, attend departmental meetings and be available for parents’ evenings as and when required. As well as deliver lessons that are both engaging and academically appropriate to stretch the students in the classes.This is a recently inspected school that has been found to be ‘Good’ in the heart of the Stockport area. Pupils enjoy being part of the school community. The house system helps them to make friends with pupils of different ages. Pupils from different year groups compete in interhouse competitions and quizzes. This sense of belonging helps pupils to feel happy in school. Pupils of all ages are encouraged to be good role models to others. Pupils have positive conduct in lessons and around the school reflects their high aspiration. Pupils benefit from a multitude of opportunities to develop new and existing hobbies. The school provides a wide variety of clubs for pupils to join including sports clubs, hairdressing and tank building.The role will be open to newly qualified teachers (ECT) as well as teachers who have more experience, we pay from M1 to M6 (sometimes we can also pay through threshold if you have done so, depending on the role).

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree educated with a good classification (2:2).
  • PGCE and QTS
  • Previous experience working of working with young people (which we can reference).
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, however training can be provided).
  • Up to date prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, however, training can be provided).
  • Up to date behaviour management & FGM training in the last year (essential, however, training can be provided).

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional children related references
