Association manager

LP Brussels is looking for a motivated and ambitious association manager to become part of our team in Brussels, working to ensure the management, raise the profile and deliver public affairs campaigns for our trade association clients, particularly in the climate, energy and transport sector.

The person we are looking for:

  • Has 3-5 years of relevant experience working for or with trade associations;
  • Has experience of organising and managing events;
  • Is able to manage a small team;
  • Has a direct interest and experience in the fields of EU climate, energy or transport policy;
  • Has an excellent level of written and spoken English, other languages a bonus;
  • Understands what motivates and influences decision makers and clients alike;
  • Practical and a can-do attitude;
  • An ability to interpret and condense information into a concise format;
  • Has the ability to work flexibly and proactively.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead a secretariat team, working under the secretary general, that delivers on both the internal functioning, primary accounting and public affairs, of an important EU trade association in the industrial sector;
  • Delivery of an annual congress outside of Belgium;
  • Organisation of committees and workshops, including drafting concise minutes in a timely manner;
  • Deliver public affairs work on client accounts in the following fields in particular – industrial legislation, bioenergy, energy efficiency, fuels, and carbon capture;
  • Help manage the websites of LP Brussels and of our clients;
  • Support the functioning of LP Brussels;
  • Delivery of communications, such as webinars and newsletters.
