We are inviting applications for the role of a Staff Accountant in our manufacturing facility located near Hampton Roads Virginia, United States. The role involves managing and maintaining our financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledgers, and monthly end-closing activities.

Responsibilities:

• Accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and receivable

• Preparation and posting of journal entries in the general ledger

• Conducting monthly bank reconciliations to ensure financial transparency

• Overseeing the month-end closing process and ensuring all financial data is accurate

• Managing customer credit applications, maintaining accurate credit records, and resolving credit-related inquiries

• Monitoring customer credit accounts and taking appropriate action to collect overdue payments.

Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations

• Ability to maintain and manage the General Ledger

• Experience in preparing Journal Entries

• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Experience in the Stone/Glass/Concrete Manufacturing industry is a plus

• Knowledge of accounting software and systems

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Commitment to ethical practices and adherence to company policies and standards

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is a plus.
