Your new role
As our new Consultant – Policy Design and Evaluation (EU), you will be part of a young, dynamic and growing team working with European institutions and stakeholders on policy consultancy, evaluations and impact assessments across a variety of policy areas, including mobility and transport, employment and skills, education and culture, justice, and customs and taxation.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Playing a key role in the evaluation and assessment of the impact of policies in the EU in line with the European Commission’s Better Regulation Guidelines;
- Working on evaluation, impact assessment, research and consultancy proposals and projects under the supervision of more senior staff;
- Planning and executing qualitative and quantitative data collection and evidence gathering activities, stakeholder consultations, strategy and planning processes, and analyses spanning multiple policy areas and countries;
- Building relationships with our clients and stakeholders, maintaining our network of partners and experts.
Your new team
You will be part of Ramboll Management Consulting Belgium. Our multidisciplinary and multilingual team is based in Brussels and works closely with the European institutions to bring sound and sustainable policy advice based on robust evidence. The Socio-Economic Impacts division that you will be part of has been conducting evaluations, impact assessments of policies and policy research at the EU level for over thirty years across a variety of policy domains.
About you

These include:
- A Master’s degree in political science, economics, social science, social policy or a similar field;
- At least 3 years experience, of which 2 in evaluation/impact assessment and management consultancy, including proposal development, research and analysis;
- Proven experience working on policy research, evaluations and impact assessments, covering a variety of policy interventions, and knowledge of the EU Better Regulation Guidelines;
- Proven experience working on commercial proposals and projects in teams;
- Detailed knowledge of the functioning of the EU, including its institutions and bodies, legal system and decision-making procedures, policies and funding instruments, notably in socio-economic policies. Willingness and enthusiasm to work across a variety of policy areas is required;
- Strong analytical skills, including experience in analysing qualitative and quantitative data. Knowledge of advanced quantitative techniques (e.g. econometrics) is an advantage;
- Strong writing skills, including experience in drafting policy-oriented documents in a well-structured and clear manner;
- Proven experience in Microsoft 365, notably Excel. Knowledge of statistical packages (e.g. STATA, R) is an advantage;
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to maintain relationships with clients and partners;
- Excellent command of English, both written and oral, and fluency in at least one more EU language.
