ABOUT THE COMPANY:

The Department of Operational Support (DOS) provides operational support to all UN Secretariat entities, including advisory, operational and transactional support services and, where needed, exercises delegated authority on behalf of clients. DOS supports the entire UN Secretariat, consisting of almost 100 entities located around the globe.

 

JOB SUMMARY

Requirements

We are looking for applicants who will demonstrate their intention to study further or work in a field relevant to the work of DHMOSH.

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: a) Be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent or higher); b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (Bachelor’s level or equivalent); or c) Have graduated with a university degree (secondary or first level); d) Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and e) Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

f) Risk/Crisis management and/or Emergency Care background is desirable.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Power BI, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required. An orientation in statistical data analytics is desirable. Public Health or Data Management background is desirable. No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship. Enrollment in any of the medical sciences studies, is desirable.

Responsibilities

 

Under the overall supervision of the Medical Director, the incumbent may have responsibilities which include, but are not limited to: • Assist in the development of health-related projects for the Division of Healthcare Management and Occupational Safety and Health (DHMOSH).

• Participate in the the International Civil Services Committee (ICSC) review of duty stations for health classifications. • Organize the ICSC folder of the Share Drive of DHMOSH.

• Assist Medical Officer in charge in the development of an electronic data collecting and analysis system for health care assessment. • Assist in preparing official documents; whilst ensuring grammar, content and formatting are accurate. • Conduct research, including document, medical and psychosocial policies, and Internet searches.

• Assist with reporting, drafting, and editing of content for print, web and multimedia. • Assist in organizing special events and meetings. • Perform any other duties as requested by the supervisor.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor Degree
