Job Title: Bottling Line Operator

Job Description

This person will be working as a bottling filler operator at a bottling and repacking facility that imports wine and has started making its own wines. This role involves coordinating with the Bottling Line Supervisor and Production Manager.

Hard Skills

  • Complete understanding of work orders

  • Complete understanding of all safety procedures for the assigned work area

  • Capable of setup, shutdown, operating, troubleshooting issues and making minor adjustments

  • Perform all required quality checks and fill out all required forms for the assigned work area

  • Compare & document each bag of corks and capsules with the work order requirements

  • Keep the cork machine and capsule machine running at all times

  • Perform in-line changeovers and machine adjustments

  • Perform Vacuum/Torque test, Walk Test, and SST

  • Perform filler sanitation, decolorization and filter sanitation

  • Ensure proper filter color and work with the cellar whenever the lenticular filter is in use

  • Perform ATP test in the filler after each sanitation

  • Perform ATP test on the corker, corker centering devices, corker compressor units, cork hopper, and screwcap hopper

  • Responsible for bowl wine samples and coordination with QA to verify wine is within customer parameters

  • Ability to pack bottles in cases, lift up to 50 lbs., and stack full boxes properly

  • Ability to cover breaks and lunches in other areas assigned by the supervisor

Soft Skills

  • Frequent walking, including going up and down stairs and ladders, and bending

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Team player with the ability to participate in team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 4 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in American Canyon, California.

Work Environment

The schedule is Monday – Thursday 4 PM – 2:30 AM, with a 4/10 schedule and frequent overtime. They often work a 5th day on Fridays, typically an 8-10 hour shift. The environment is clean, moderately noisy, and fast-paced with a wet, cold warehouse. The team consists of about 15 employees, fostering a close-knit crew. Must wear steel-toed boots.
