Job Overview/Summary:
The Psychologist provides day to day on job mentoring and supporting trained staff by IRC within IRC supported PHCs and Community Center. He/She works closely with MHPSS manager. The Psychologist assures delivery of high-quality services comply with all Ministry of Health protocols and guidelines. In addition, the Psychologist actively participates in developing referral pathways to higher more specialized health facilities if needed. Under the direct supervision of the MHPSS Manager, the Psychologist will also coordinate with Health Coordinator as necessary.
Major Responsibilities:
• Support trained PHC health staff to deliver one-on-one (Individual) counselling sessions to identified clients within IRC supported PHCs, and in line with IRC integrated approach
• Conducting group, averages sessions, trainings, recreational activities and support groups, as well as other types of group work provided for by the program to provide psychosocial support and psychoeducation
• On the job mentoring and supervision of the trained staff by IRC as ensuring support on the follow up of complicated cases
• Work in close, daily collaboration with the IRC sectors to ensure women and girls have safe, discrete and confidential access to services via the internal referral procedures
• Support MHPSS Manager in delivering trainings or workshops
• Support in the creation of materials including training modules.
• Engage with the community to deliver and promote IRC MHPSS project activities in the designated locations.
• Assist in writing monthly, quarterly, annual reports, monitoring and evaluation activity and progress reports including monthly reporting to the MHPSS manager.
• Responds to identified needs by carrying out appropriate psychosocial support
• Assist in the implementation of preventive MHPSS interventions at the community and PHC level.
• Mentor and support PHC trained staff and MMU staff for appropriate referrals
• Work in close, daily collaboration with the IRC sectors to ensure women and girls have safe, discrete and confidential access to services via the internal referral procedures
• Perform other work assignments and tasks from the MHPSS manager
Documentation and Reporting:
• Support implementation of data collection, M&E and quality control measures for services provided within CC and PHCs supported by IRC
• Complete weekly/monthly activity reports, according to the mentorship provided by the MHPSS manager
• Support project staff to maintain program records and documentation as per project management minimum standards, including maintaining the confidentiality and security patient data
• Ensure proper documentation of patient case management
• Formalizing the completion and submission of all additional required reporting that will be required by the MHPSS manager
Requirements:
• Diploma in Psychology
• Bilingual in Ukrainian and Russian required, some command in English desired
• Experience with provision of direct support (basic counselling, case management, PSS) with women and girls, including survivors of SGBV. Previous training in these areas strongly preferred
• Ability to respond to emergencies when needed and support PHC and CC team in providing support in service delivery
• Advantage: social work or other relevant/related studies and/or professional experience in counselling and supervision activities, desirable
• Ability to work within a team structure, flexible, and can cope with stressful workloads and working with limited resources
• Experience in working with displaced persons and migrants
• Good command of the use of Microsoft Office especially Outlook, Work, Excel
• Good communication, teamwork skills and ability to work independently
