Bath & North East Somerset Council
About the Team
The Energy Transformation team is a new team within the Council, created to drive the change
needed to decarbonise our buildings and generate renewable energy in line with our ambition to
be a Net Zero Council and District by 2030. The team sits in the Sustainable Economy service,
working alongside colleagues in Green Infrastructure and Nature Recovery, Business & Skills
and Regeneration.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the Council’s strategy around building retrofit and
heat decarbonisation, both across the Council and wider District. You will work with colleagues
across Council services involved in the retrofit of buildings; as well as community groups and
partners across the District, and other West of England Councils. You will have the freedom to
develop your own ideas and projects in line with our goals. The role includes line management
of a Policy & Projects Officer.
About You
You will be motivated to address the Climate and Ecological Emergency and have a good
understanding of what is required to achieve this. The role will suit someone who is
collaborative, able to effectively manage projects and think strategically.
