Description We are seeking an Underwriting Associate to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. As an Underwriting Associate, you will play a critical role in supporting the underwriting process for our online platforms across multiple lines of business. This role requires a strong understanding of Commercial Property and Casualty insurance principles and practices, excellent computer skills, and a commitment to providing superior customer service.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately and efficiently process customer credit applications

• Maintain precise customer credit records

• Resolve customer inquiries in a timely and detail oriented manner

• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary

• Adhere to underwriting authority, compliance, and regulations

• Manage daily workload using our Small Commercial Inventory Management systems

• Build and maintain productive relationships with underwriters to drive results, including profitability, growth, and retention

• Handle endorsement requests, BORs, quote letters, renewal processes, auto line rating processes, Work Comp CRIT management, rewrites, cancellations, and billing discrepancy resolution

• Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel and Outlook, to perform tasks and communicate effectively

• Work both independently and within a team/group environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook

• Proven experience in underwriting and knowledge of insurance practices and principles

• Excellent customer service skills with a track record of achieving customer satisfaction

• Ability to use software such as ‘About Time’ for time management and billing

• Proficiency in performing ad-hoc financial analyses and managing spreadsheets

• Experience with claim administration in an insurance setting

• Understanding of regulations related to underwriting and insurance

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in data or documents

• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software or platforms

• Experience in onsite underwriting is a plus

• Ability to adhere to service level agreements and maintain quality standards

• Familiarity with underwriting templates and their appropriate usage.
