The Operations and Management Directorate (OMD) provides corporate services to all SPC Divisions and Programmes. It consists of three key departments: Finance, Human Resources and Information Services. OMD is focused on improving the effectiveness of systems, policies and management to provide high-quality customer-oriented services

The role – Human Resources Assistant – Remuneration, Systems, Health and Safety will provide administrative support to the team.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

Administration Support

  • Assist the remuneration and health and safety team with all routine letters and reports.
  • Assist with coordinating the health and safety helpdesk tickets.
  • Assist the health and safety team with monitoring the safety register.
  • Assist with the raising of purchase orders, invoices, processing e-payments.
  • Assist with coordinating company-wide wellness programs.

Files and Records Management Support

  • Meticulously maintain records of incidents, safety protocols, and employee training sessions.
  • Convert paper filing to online filing.
  • Document filing and retrieval during internal/external audit.

Support HR Projects

  • Support the Human Resources Manager Remuneration, Systems and Health and Safety with Human Resource projects and assignments as and when requested E.g. maintain a training record database, assist with writing up Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Key selection criteria

Qualifications

  • A degree qualification in human resources or business administration or relevant field.

Technical expertise

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of human resources or business administration experience.
  • Skills with Microsoft Office is essential (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with working in a dynamic and challenging environment.
  • Be committed to providing excellent service to clients.
  • Strong organization skills as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks at any given time.
  • Ensure confidentiality at all times.

Language skills

  • Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).

Interpersonal skills and cultural awareness

  • Ability to work in a multicultural, inclusive and equitable environment.

Salary, terms and conditions

Contract Duration6 months – subject to renewal depending on funding and performance.

Remuneration – The Human Resources Assistant – Remuneration, Systems, Health and Safety is a band 6 position in SPC’s 2024 salary scale, with a commencing taxable salary range of FJD 1,892-2,365 per month, plus local staff benefits. An offer of appointment for an initial contract will normally be made in the lower half of this range, with due consideration given to experience and qualifications. Progression within the salary scale will be based on annual performance reviews.
