FSC - Forest Stewardship Council
The Scope
You will manage the relationship with FSC’s national accreditation body and the FSC system acceptance process in accordance with the European (EC) regulation 765/2008. You will implement an FSC General Assembly 2021/2022 membership motion to develop a new set of requirements for FSC’s assurance provider Assurance Services International (ASI).
Main Roles & Responsibilities
- To manage the FSC application for system review with the national accreditation body, coordinating with relevant FSC teams and ASI.
- To manage the ongoing compliance of FSC certification system with relevant accreditation and assurance legislation.
- To coordinate with relevant FSC teams and ASI to ensure alignment of FSC requirements with ISO requirements (mainly ISO 17065 requirements and ISO 17067 guidance).
- To develop and implement a structure for informing and consulting the national accreditation body (and European Accreditation members) on changes to the FSC Normative Framework.
- To manage the relationship with the national accreditation body.
- To develop and maintain requirements for ASI in accordance with FSC’s standard setting procedure FSC-PRO-01-001, comprising the requirements for the assessment process and reporting of ASI to FSC and considering existing Key Performance Indicators
Your profile
Education and Training:
- MScs University or technical college degree in a relevant field (e.g. quality management, international relations, social sciences, business administration).
Working Experience, Style and Skills:
- At least 5 years of work experience in one or more of the following areas: certification (standard development, auditing), quality management (quality assurance, quality control), assurance.
- Knowledge and experience in implementation of ISO 17065 and related ISO requirements for accreditation.
- Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven successful project management experience.
- A very strong sense for diligence and accuracy.
- Service and solution-oriented attitude to work.
- Proactiveness and high level of engagement.
- Style oriented on collaboration and team cohesiveness.
- Administration skills.
Digital Skills:
- Good skills in the use of/experience with standard software packages (MS Office).
Languages and Communication Skills:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to explain complex topics in a simple and user-friendly manner to non-technical audi-ence.
- Experience or demonstrated ability to work in multi-cultural and diverse team.
- Excellent English and German (spoken and written).

- approaches to issues relevant to the FSC program by stakeholders around the world.
The Fine Print
- Location: Bonn, Germany.
- Working Hours: Full time – 40 hours per week.
- Starting Date: As soon as possible.
- Duration of Employment: 2 years with the intend to extend to open-ended.
