Description We are seeking a meticulous Tax Preparer to join our team in Thousand Oaks, California. The primary role of the Tax Preparer will involve handling various tax returns for individuals and businesses, and providing tax advice to our diverse clientele. This role provides a contract to hire employment opportunity and is a key function within our team.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation and review of various tax returns including for individuals, businesses, partnerships, and S corporations.

• Engage directly with clients to gather necessary information and provide informed tax advice.

• Use accounting software systems to ensure accuracy in tax return preparation.

• Offer some support in bookkeeping tasks, familiarizing with both QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.

• Stay updated on the latest tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and optimize tax positions for clients.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth tax preparation process.

• Maintain a high level of customer service, addressing and resolving customer inquiries.

• Conduct data entry tasks and maintaining accurate customer credit records.

• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action based on account status.

• Utilize skills in accounting functions and allowances to ensure a high level of service. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with ADP – Financial Services

• Experience with CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax

• Ability to use Drake Tax Software

• Knowledge of Accounting Functions

• Understanding of Allowances in tax preparation

• Exceptional Customer Service skills

• Proficiency in Data Entry

• Knowledge of Deductibles in tax preparation

• Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English

• Willingness to maintain the highest level of confidentiality

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (preferred)

• Certified Public Accountant or Enrolled Agent certification (preferred)

• Previous experience in a similar role (preferred)
