What we are looking for
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is looking for an experienced, dynamic, and highly strategical individual to take up the role of Regional HR Adviser for Latin America who will be responsible of supporting the Country offices (COs) in the region to implement HR systems and initiatives in accordance with NRC global policies and procedures; and to support the COs in developing and aligning their HR practices. The Regional HR adviser guides and provides technical support to CO HR managers and works closely with the HR teams and the CO management to set HR strategic goals and handle cases related to all employee cycle aspects. The regional HR Adviser performs quality and compliance control and shares best practices among COs in the region.
What you will do
- Support the Regional the LARO Team on carrying on HR aspects for the regional office staff related to contract management, inductions/onboarding, exits, leave management etc)
- Provide technical advice and support to CO HR focal points on global HR initiatives including Learning and Development, Reward, Organisational Design and Staff Care etc.
- Support change management process in COs linked to start up, exit, restructurings, and workforce planning as needed.
- Support country offices in implementing their Duty of Care and staff care initiatives.
- Assist in the periodic reviews of NRC’s salary and benefits package in country offices in reference to the local market to assess competitiveness and ensure that NRC remunerations is within NRC’s guidelines and standards.
- Share best practices on operative HR issues within COs and with other HR advisers in NRC.
- Minimum 3 years of experience from working as a senior HR Manager /Adviser in a humanitarian/recovery context.
What you will bring
- Experience of working in complex and volatile contexts.
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
- Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
- Experience with start-up operation is a plus.
- Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal
- Fluency in French is an asset.
- International experience in, and knowledge about the regional context is and countries supported is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of the context in the countries supported by the region is an asset.
