Job Description:

GDIT has an exciting opportunity available for an Electronics Security System (ESS) Field Service Engineer in Support of USAG in Vicenza, Italy. Successful candidates will need to have a current and active Secret Clearance and be able to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

How a Field Service Engineer will make an impact:

  • Conduct Site Surveys.

  • Install, service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Electronic Security Equipment ( BOSCH Security and Video Management

  • Systems, ICIDS Intrusion Detection Systems, and HIRSCH Access Control systems ).

  • Conceptual knowledge of maintaining Hisch, ICIDS Instructions Detections Systems and Access control.

  • Conceptual knowledge of maintaining BOSCH Security and Video Management Systems.

  • Work on elevating platforms where required. Install PVC/metal conduit.

  • Install cable and field devices.

  • Provide Customers and Watch Officers training and support.

  • Maintain paperwork, deliverables and technical documentation.

  • Interpret design plans provided by the customer.

  • Testing of network hardware at different locations throughout the Vicenza and Darby Military Footprint.

  • Preform Alarm Test and Schedule Prevent Maintenance.

  • Installation and/or removal of equipment into a rack or cabinet, cable ladder and patch panels.

  • Installation of network devices and the interface cables to facilitate required interconnectivity.

  • Interconnection of various networking devices via Fiber and CAT6 cabling.

  • Test source to destination.

  • Repair or Replace cables if they are damaged, have signs of wear and tear, fails testing, or does not meet current standard.

  • Cable management, verify all labels and update/generate documentation.

  • Provide embedded support at customer location.

  • Interpret design plans provided by the customer.

  • Provide escort to vendors or personnel to Secure Areas.

  • 25-50% Travel is required to other European countries.

  • Candidate is required to perform other additional duties in support the Contract.

  • Candidate is required to maintain IT Certification up to date.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety Shoes must be worn on worksite.

  • Employee is requiring purchasing the PPE and Safety Shoes.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Active US Passport.

  • Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree, 0+ years of experience

  • TESA Accreditation Requirements; A bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR; An associate’s degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; 11 years of recent specialized experience.

  • Knowledgeable utilizing the Microsoft applications such as, Visio, Word, and Excel.

  • Must have a current and active Secret clearance and be able to TS/SCI Clearance

The likely salary range for this position is $68,000 – $92,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
