How can you tell the difference ? 

  • Under the supervision of the Health System Strengthening Specialist, the Community Health Program Administrator will provide technical assistance to the country for the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of interventions relating to the community health package in an integrated and intersectoral manner in UNICEF’s priority provinces for scaling up at country level.

Support for implementation and planning

  • Provide technical support to national programs in analyzing community health problems and identifying barriers or factors hindering program performance as well as identifying corrective actions to increase effective coverage of interventions and achieve child outcomes
  • Provide technical support to the Ministry of Health in the development of action plans for community interventions: support the country in the process of evaluating the National Strategic Plan for Community Health 2019-2022 and the writing of the National Strategic Plan for Community Health 2024-2030

Support for monitoring, evaluation and assistance

  • Provide technical support to the Ministry of Health in monitoring the implementation and monitoring of community interventions: support the country in the process of evaluating the National Strategic Plan for Community Health 2019-2022 and writing the National Strategic Plan for Community Health 2024-2030.
  • Organize regular monthly intersectoral monitoring of implementation at the national level with the MSPHP, at the provincial level with the priority DPS for UNICEF, and at the peripheral level with the Health Zones.
  • Support the development of progress reports to be submitted to stakeholders involved in the management of the community health program
  • Technical assistance in the implementation of interventions

Organize the annual community health review at the national level to:

  • learn lessons from implementation to facilitate the generation of evidence and feed into discussions at provincial and national levels with other stakeholders and the health administration.
  • Develop appropriate recommendations from integrated analyses for better inter-sectoral implementation
  • Develop progress reports for submission to stakeholders involved in the management of the community health program
  • Support the deployment of CHWs within the framework of the Community Health Delivery Partnership (CHDP) between UNICEF and Africa-CDC
  • Strengthening the partnership
  • Support the MSPHP in promoting community practices that have demonstrated their effectiveness on maternal, neonatal and infant morbidity and mortality.
  • Support the country in defining the community health intervention package.

Innovation and Capacity Building

  • Support the use of new information technology in priority DPS.
  • Provide technical support for the internal coordination of Community Health activities in the health section in collaboration with the Wash, Nutrition, Gender, C4D and Protection sections, with the aim of constantly prioritizing multisectorality;
  • Support the development and implementation of the community SNIS in the DRC,

To be an advocate for every child, you must…

  • Education: Advanced degree (bachelor’s degree) in health sciences, social sciences or a related field
  • Professional experience: At least two years of relevant experience in public health, with a good knowledge of health systems

Skills  :   

  • Good experience in developing monitoring systems at decentralized level.
  • Good experience in developing community system.
  • Experience in strengthening community participation in a development project.
  • Language requirements: Fluency in French and good basic knowledge of English
