Organizational Setting
FAO Health Services (CSLH) is a section under Corporate Logistics Division that is responsible for the provision of preventive, healthcare, occupational health and wellbeing and mental health services to FAO employees and entitled dependents around the world. Included under CSLH is a Personal Healthcare clinic in headquarters in Rome that provides general medical consultations and physiotherapy to FAO employees in Rome, Italy
Reporting Lines
The Occupational Health Physiotherapist reports directly to FAO Senior Physiotherapist or FAO Chief of Health Services or his designate.
Technical Focus
Prevention, identification and resolution of work and personal psychosocial related problems at the individual/strategy/policy levels.
Tasks and responsibilities
Under the direct supervision and oversight of the Chief, CSLH and/or designate, in coordination with the other PHCC providers, and following the United Nations established policies and procedures, the Occupational Health Physiotherapist will provide a full range of physiotherapy services, as follows:
Physiotherapist activities:
• Provide in-house physiotherapy service to employees, as medically prescribed, such as: stationary exercise bicycle, tecar, electrostimulation, heat lamp treatment, iontophoresis, electromagnetic treatment, interferential current treatment, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), ultrasound, low intensity laser therapy, hyperthermia treatment, massage, manual lymphodrainage, cryoultrasound, kinesiotherapy, postural gymnastics.
• Assist in the programme of advanced sport rehabilitation services
• Other specialized neuromotor and postural rehabilitation as prescribed by the treating consultant (neuromuscular taping, etc.)
Administrative activities:
• Monitor stock and issue orders of supplies;
• Maintain equipment used for the physiotherapy services, i.e. organize regular cleaning of the medical equipment and schedule annual check-up by the equipment supplier;
• Coordinate and liaise with the PHCC focal point for billing and invoicing process related to the treatments provided;
• Record consultations and diagnosis in the electronic medical record system (Cority);
• Monitor on a weekly basis the physiotherapy laundry;
• Perform other related duties as required.
Health Promotion activities:
• Collaborate with the Health Promotion focal point and other Medical Service team members in health promotion and awareness campaigns.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
• University degree in physiotherapy from a recognized institution;
• Minimum 5 years professional experience post-graduation as a physiotherapist in different settings (in and out patient);
• Working knowledge of English (C Level) & limited knowledge of Italian (Level B).

Technical/Functional Skills
• Extent and relevance of experience in evidence-based physiotherapy practice with a proven ability to provide exercise-based rehabilitation to achieve functional, patient-centered goals to improving patient health and wellbeing.
• Excellent organizational, time keeping and multitasking skills with a demonstrated ability to attend several patients simultaneously
• Good IT skills (Office suite and any Occupational Health software); ability to create and extract medical data from systems to produce statistics and reports would be considered an asset.
Selection Criteria
• Experience with international corporations or organizations would be an asset
• Knowledge of another official UN language is considered as an asset.
