Visit us today and check out to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityReporting to, and in collaboration with the Manager, Public Health Mobile Unit and working closely with the Public Health Mobile Unit Leadership Team, the Assistant Manager provides operational and professional leadership to the team. This is through supporting, developing, and implementing the components of the Public Health Mobile Unit program. The Assistant Manager participants in the planning and operations of community programming and identifies issues that have potential or actual impacts on Public Health Mobile Unit clinics and clients. The Assistant Manager keeps the Public Health Mobile Unit Manager aware and up to date of any significant events. This position enables and supports the activities and initiatives that promote and maintain the Public Health Mobile Unit program across the Public Health Mobile Unit team (staff), equipment and fleet. The Assistant Manager demonstrates effective communication and organizational skills and acts as a resource for all team members ensuring quality care is provided through the Public Health Mobile Unit program.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Masters in public health, health promotion, community development or equivalent with 1-2 years relevant experience with an emphasis on planning, implementation, customer service and logistics.
- Baccalaureate degree in public health, health promotion, community development or other relevant field with 2-4 years relevant experience with an emphasis on planning, implementation, customer service and logistics.
- Equivalent combination of education and 7 years progressive leadership experience may be considered.
- Training in IAP2 or engagement training and customer service an asset
- Recent (within 5 years) facilitation training
- Demonstrated success in establishing and working within strategic partnerships, networks, coalitions, and collaborative working relationships with a variety of internal and external partners to support public health work.
- Demonstrated judgment, decisions making, and problem-solving skills aligned with the LEADS framework.
- Demonstrated planning, organization, and time management skills. Ability to deal with competing priorities.
- Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations including the NS Health Protection Act, NS Health Authorities Act, Dismantling Racism and Hate Act.
- Innovative systems thinking with an understanding of working with communities to protect against communicable diseases, health hazards and emergencies.
