Global Rights Compliance (GRC) is an international legal foundation and LLP focussed on using innovative approaches to international law to enable accountability for atrocity crimes. We have a presence in the Hague, London, and Kyiv.

Starvation Track: GRC possesses unrivalled expertise and granular knowledge of the crime of starvation, derived from a dedicated portfolio of analysis, accountability and investigative work conducted over the past five years. GRC has conducted numerous starvation investigations using OSINT experts and organisations, using those findings to develop legal submissions and pursue innovative accountability initiatives. These have been focussed on Yemen, Syria, South Sudan, Tigray and Ukraine.

The Starvation and Humanitarian Crisis Team currently implements a range of projects with various donors and varying portfolio sizes across Ukraine, Syria and Gaza. GRC, is the only international organisation consisting of ICL lawyers that has been consistently in Ukraine since 2015 working in support of the Office of the Prosecutor General (OPG) through deploying several Mobile Justice Teams (MJTs) which assist the OPG in all aspects of investigation, case building and prosecution. Our headquarters for this project are in Kyiv, Ukraine. GRC’s MJTs operate throughout Ukraine in areas of interest to the OPG. We also engage with a range of state and non-state actors and are actively involved in the humanitarian space advising food-based agencies.

We are seeking an experienced Programme Coordination Lead to effectively assist, develop and manage rule of law programmes. This role will primarily assist the Starvation Project Director in project planning, project and programme support and monitoring the progress of all Starvation and Humanitarian crisis projects, ensuring compliance with donors’ rules, and adherence to timelines and deliverables within each project.

Duty Station: Remote, with the potential for occasional travel.

Contract Duration: 12 months with possible extension.

The Challenge

  • Assist in the implementation, coordination, and management of programmes.
  • Support GRC Management in executing programme activities.
  • Coordinate with various teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth programme operations.
  • Assist in the development of project plans, objectives, and timelines.
  • Monitor programme progress against established milestones and deliverables.
  • Track key performance indicators and evaluate programme outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date programme documentation, including project files, records, and reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of regular progress reports, status updates, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper documentation of meetings, decisions, and action items.
  • Assist with budget tracking, expense monitoring, and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Chief of Staff, finance, human resources, business development and procurement teams to ensure efficient resource allocation within projects.
  • Perform monthly administrative tasks, such as checking invoices, and timesheets and providing relevant approvals.
  • Assist in organising and coordinating meetings, workshops, and other programme-related events.
  • Actively pursue business opportunities to expand the portfolio of work and support GRC’s business development team to expand.

Your Background

  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, business administration or a related area is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Organised multitasker able to manage multiple lines of work and sometimes conflicting demands.
  • Calm and pragmatic approach.
  • Excellent drafting skills in English.
  • Fluency in English both written and verbal skills.
  • Experience of working in a post-Soviet country / legal system or in Syria-related programmes is desirable.
  • Practical experience working in the wider rule of law area is desirable.
  • Arabic or Ukrainian language skills would be an advantage.
