The Opportunity

Expressions of interest are sought from outstanding domestic candidates for PhD study in the Department of Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering, focusing on cutting-edge research in novel materials for electromagnetic shielding and stealth applications.

Ph.D. Project – Microwave Characterisation and Modelling of Novel Materials for Shielding and Stealth

This project centres the microwave characteristics of novel materials for electromagnetic shielding and stealth. Working alongside a team of materials chemists, the successful candidate will explore key aspects of electromagnetics using a combination of theoretical modelling, computer simulation, and experimental validation. The techniques developed during this project will help optimize the design of novel materials for various commercial and defence applications. This opportunity provides a platform to contribute significantly to the advancement of electromagnetic technologies for Australian Defence.

To be eligible to apply for domestic postgraduate research scholarships an applicant must be an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident, or New Zealand Special Category Visa Holder.
