Our team is responsible for driving innovation to deliver TurboTax Canada with delightful user experiences while maintaining the overall quality and accuracy of the product. As part of the team, you’ll apply your mobile development, innovation, and leadership skills to drive the technology and processes of a large-scale consumer mobile application.

What you’ll bring

To be eligible for the role you must align with the following:

  • Currently enrolled in post secondary education

  • A graduation date of no earlier than 4 months after the internship/co-op concludes

  • Not require sponsorship to work within the role now or in the future

  • Come in 2x per week to our Toronto office (all of our co-op roles are hybrid)

What You’ll Bring:

  • A strong familiarity with the Android ecosystem for development, testing, debugging, and performance benchmarking

  • Strong coding skills in Java / Kotlin coupled with strong knowledge in object-oriented design and micro services architecture

  • Passion for quality practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automated regression

  • Excellent grasp of OOP

  • Experience with SOAP & REST API

  • Experience with SQL Lite and other databases

  • Knowledgeable about MVC and MVVM architecture

  • Experience with GIT

  • Experience with publishing apps

  • Experience with UI development

  • Experience using TurboTax and passion for innovating and improving the customer experience

  • A degree in a computer science or related field

How you will lead

How You’ll Do:

  • Architecting, designing, and developing Mobile features, prototypes or POC’s

  • Gathering of functional requirements, developing technical specifications, and project & test planning

  • Contribute to quality best practices including peer reviews of estimates, design, and code

  • Generate technical documentation to communicate architectural and design options, and educate development teams and business users

  • Manage individual projects priorities, deadlines and deliverables with your technical expertise.
