About The RoleFalmouth University is currently seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Centre for Blended Realities. Funded by Research England’s Expanding Excellence in England scheme, you will play a critical role in contributing to and supporting research excellence at Falmouth University.The focus of the role is to develop and share interdisciplinary understandings of blended reality technologies, and their varied application in creative settings. We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about interdisciplinary research and who are eager to collaborate with our team to advance knowledge and practice.The main duties and responsibilities of this role include participating in cutting-edge research projects, engaging with industry and community interest groups, and disseminating research findings through various channels. Additionally, you will contribute to the strategic goals of the University by fostering innovation and supporting the broader RKE agenda. This role will commence in Autumn 2024.About YouThe successful candidate will have a PhD in an aligned area, and an ambition to working in a research intensive context. You will have the proven ability to work independently, and experience of working on collaborative projects. You should be committed to developing innovative approaches to your research practice, and specialist insight from across a range of disciplines, including (but not limited to) technology development, digital humanities, and the digital creative industries. We seek individuals who are passionate about interdisciplinary research and eager to collaborate with our existing team to push the boundaries of knowledge and practice.We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:

  • Enthusiasm for practice research and innovation
  • Understanding of external engagement and knowledge exchange
  • Demonstrable project management track-record
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience of group working
