The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an expected start date of July 1, 2025.Candidates must have earned a PhD degree in Political Science or a related area by the time of the appointment, or shortly thereafter, with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. The successful candidate will specialize in liberal and/or democratic theory. We would particularly welcome candidates who consider criticisms of, or threats to, liberal democracy and the theoretical arguments for addressing them. The position is open with respect to approaches and methods.We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests complement and deepen our existing departmental strengths. The successful candidate will undertake undergraduate and graduate teaching responsibilities on the University of Toronto’s downtown (St. George) campus.
