With more than 270 Indigenous clients and 500 team members dedicated to this sector, no other firm has invested as much time and resources into serving the unique needs of Indigenous communities.ResponsibilitiesLead the management of local contractors, ensuring effective scheduling, resource allocation, change orders, and quality control for timely project deliveryPartner with engineers, subcontractors, community members, and leadership to weave community preferences and cultural values into housing designs * Collaborate with Housing, Infrastructure, and relevant leads to ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations while respecting cultural guidelines

  • Interpret engineering plans and specifications, conducting regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues promptly
  • Oversee project budgets, handling cost estimation and financial tracking to ensure accountability and transparency.
  • Monitor project timelines against targets, adjust where necessary; advise clients of project status and seek clarification on discrepancies where applicable
  • Establish collaborative and effective working relationships with clients and project delivery teams
  • Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and community leaders, fostering open communication
  • Opportunity to travel to client sites as required

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations
  • Preferred Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent; health and safety certifications (e.g., First Aid, CPR) are preferred
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the diverse Indigenous community including relevant legislation, government structures, programs, rights and current issues
  • Proven track record in managing construction projects, especially within Indigenous communities in Canada, with a strong focus on cultural sensitivity and remote project management.
