This is a full-time, permanent position starting in September. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality Geography lessons to students from KS3 to KS4, encouraging them to explore the complexities of the world and its environments.Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver effective and stimulating Geography lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Develop students’ understanding of geographical concepts, including physical and human geography, through a variety of teaching strategies.
• Differentiate lessons to meet the diverse needs of all students, including those with special educational needs (SEN) and varying abilities.
• Use a range of assessment methods to monitor and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
• Prepare students for GCSE Geography exams, ensuring they acquire the necessary skills in research, analysis, and critical thinking.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and enrichment of the Geography curriculum and participate in department meetings and planning.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a passion for learning about the world.
• Participate in school events, parent evenings, and extracurricular activities, including field trips, to enhance students’ understanding of Geography.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a degree in Geography or a related subject.
• Experience teaching Geography at the secondary school level (KS3 and KS4).
• Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and GCSE specifications for Geography.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students of all abilities.
• Strong classroom management skills, creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
• A passion for Geography and a commitment to inspiring students to develop a deeper understanding of the world.
• Willingness to participate in professional development and contribute to the wider school community.
