We have an exciting new remote opportunity with our Digital Technology (DT) team for an API Software Engineer.

What You Will Do:

  • Use Agile software methodology to plan, build, test, and deploy product features/functionality.
  • Implement APIs and connectivity solutions across digital products.
  • Write APIs and API contracts.
  • Help drive software engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with a cross-functional team of software developers, QA engineers, designers, product managers, and DevOps engineers.
  • Conduct data modeling, support data architecture decisions, and create queries for relational and transactional databases.
  • Write code that is documented and tested (unit, etc.).
  • Monitor and continuously improve code to meet software development standards set by the team.
  • Develop a deep knowledge of the data sources used for data modeling and collaborate effectively with the data owners/stewards to understand the business context of the data being used in the modeling.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • BS degree in MIS, Business, Engineering, or related degree and 8+ years of prior relevant work experience; OR an Advanced Degree in MIS, Business, Engineering, or related degree and 5+ years of prior relevant work experience; OR in lieu of a degree, 12+ years of prior relevant work experience.
  • Experience building Microservices using Spring Boot, Maven, Spring JPA based Framework for Api Development.
  • Experience enabling Authentication using Oauth2 & Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Experience in working with Databases – Oracle, Sql Server, Databricks, postgres.
  • Experience with distributed Schedular framework.
  • Experience in using AWS/Azure Cloud Environments.
  • Experience using MS Dynamics/OData Apis.
  • Experience in React/Next.js based UI Development.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contract requirements. 

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with cloud native services and implementations.
  • Understanding of SDLC from conception to delivery.
  • Experience with application scalability and performance testing.
  • Ability to communicate technical plans and challenges to both technical and non-technical team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with the team.
  • Ability to use active listening to interact effectively at all levels within the company.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand technical tradeoffs and make timely decisions to ensure the solution meets critical functional and business needs.
  • Experience in highly regulated industries or government solutions.
  • Experience in writing technical documents and communicating effectively with product stake holders.
  • Self-starter with ability to find answers and creative solutions in scenarios of technical ambiguity.
  • Familiarity with industry standard cyber security requirements.
  • Working Knowledge of DevOps – Containers, CI/CD Pipelines, Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes, PCF/OpenShift or any other automated deployment pipelines.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD – 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
